Hero is Fugitive: Police
A man who was heralded as a hero for saving the life of a suicidal teen turned out to be a fugitive, according to Hamden Police.
He is wanted in Georgia for violating probation, in relation to a conviction on four counts of child molestation. The 49-year-old man was reportedly able to avoid arrest when he saved the teen because he used a fake name, police said.
Joint Found in Child’s Lunch
A Killingworth man was arrested after a marijuana joint was found in his 18-year-old’s lunch. “He said he had accidently dropped it into the container while making the child’s lunch,” Clinton Police Maj. John Santry told the New Haven Register.
Security Tackles Seafood Thief
A Bridgeport man has been banned from the ShopRite in Stratford after being arrested for allegedly attempting to steal seafood from the Barnum Avenue grocery store. He reportedly stashed about $200 worth of fresh seafood in a trash bag and made a run for the exit. Store security tackled him on his way out, police said.
Malnourished Dogs Found in Breeder’s Home
A Stratford woman who is a renowned German shepherd breeder was arrested this week on multiple counts of animal cruelty. When police entered the woman’s home they found more than a dozen malnourished dogs living in filthy conditions, the Connecticut Post reports.
Indecent Exposure at Furniture Store
A 19-year-old Woodbridge resident reportedly exposed himself to shoppers at the Raymour and Flanagan furniture store in Orange. A Patch reader says she believes this same man exposed himself to her in Woodbridge, too.
Strangulation Suspect Arrested at Bar
A domestic dispute between a husband and wife ended when police located the couple at a Milford bar and arrested the man. He reportedly resisted arrest and spit on and kicked a police officer.
iPhones Snatched from AT&T
An unidentified man reportedly broke into an AT&T store in East Haven, kicked down the manager’s door and stole several iPhones.
