North Haven Police Arrest Two for Larceny

Two arrested on separate larceny charges.

 

Game Over for Electronics Thief

A man accused of attempting to steal $7,700 worth of video game merchandise from a local retailer was arrested Tuesday by North Haven officers. 

Leon Lewis, 20, of New Haven was seen shoplifting by store security, and was subsequently apprehended by police, who charged him with larceny in the third degree. 

Lewis was released on $10,000 bond, and will appear in Meriden Superior Court on January 5. 

The defendant is also facing a series of motor vehicle charges following an October arrest by New Haven police. 

 

Crime Spree Cut Short

William Cox, 45, of New Haven was also arrested Monday by North Haven PD on charges that he had engaged in a three-month-long robbery spree, robbing a series of Washington Avenue businesses starting in July of this year. 

Cox is estimated to have stolen roughly $2,900 from the stores. 

Police charged him with six counts of larceny in the sixth degree, one count of larceny fourth degree, and one count of criminal attempt to commit larceny. 

Cox is being held on $14,000 bond, with a trial date scheduled for January 5.
