New Adoption fees at the Animal Haven

The adoption fees for 2012 have changed, effective February 1, 2012 at the Animal Haven:

Cat or kitten - $75

Dogs - $125

Puppies - $175

Pets over 7 years of age - $50

Pets that have been at the kennel for over a year - $50

All animals are examined by a veterinarian and are sterilized and vaccinated before they can be adopted. Before entering our shelter, dogs must test negative for heartworm and cats must test negative for feline leukemia and AIDS.

Adoptions at the Animal Haven increased 100% last November and December with lowered cat/kitten adoption fees.  The Animal Haven wants to help as many animals as possible, but must balance pet entry and adoption numbers to maximize the number of adoptable, homeless pets that The Animal Haven can help.  In 2011, we had the highest entries and adoptions ever.

The Animal Haven is a no-kill animal shelter that takes in adoptable homeless cats and dogs, and takes pride in matching them with loving, permanent homes. It receives no town or government sources of income and operates through private donations, membership dues, numerous fundraisers and grants. Since 1948, The Animal Haven has been proud to serve the people and homeless pets of Greater New Haven, Connecticut.

For more information, please visit The Animal Haven at 89 Mill Road in North Haven on: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.

The Animal Haven sincerely appreciates having community support to keep our doors open to many adoptable orphaned cats and dogs. Thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts.
