Last Friday afternoon, Wallingford couple Kim and Robert Fetera were richly rewarded at the CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill with a super-sized prize of a lifetime when they officially claimed their “Max-A-Millions” instant game ticket with a matching pair of 55’s revealing one of the game’s $2,000,000 top prizes. Raj Krishna, store manager for Aircraft Package Store located at 394 Washington Avenue in North Haven, couldn’t be happier for the Feteras—they were the lottery retailer who sold Fetera his winning ticket.
“We are so delighted that Mr. Fetera came by the store to validate his ticket and share his joy with us,” Krishna told Lottery officials. “This is by far the biggest prize we have ever had. We feel so blessed that we can be a part of this.”
The Max-A-Millions $2,000,000 top prize is payable as a 20-year annuity or as a one-time cash lump-sum equivalent. The Feteras selected the Max-A-Millions top prize in a $1,223,800 lump sum payment, and received a check for $835,862 (prize value after taxes).
Max-A-Millions debuted in September of 2008. Of the eight top prizes in the Max-A-Millions game, one more remains to be claimed. Overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 3.55. Odds of winning the $2,000,000 top prize are 1 in 510,000.
For selling the $2,000,000 top prize winning ticket, Aircraft Package Store, a lottery retailer since October 1998, will receive a $20,000 bonus from the CT Lottery.
The CT Lottery reminds the public that purchasers must be 18 or older, and to please play responsibly. For information about the CT Lottery, call (860) 713-2700 or visit the CT Lottery web site at ctlottery.org.
