Boston College Gaelic Football Team Coming SUNDAY to New Haven Gaelic Football & Hurling Club

Kellan Etter, grandson of Jim McGuinness, one of the founding members of the New Haven Gaelic Football & Hurling Club, is a founder in his own right.  After discovering the beauty of Gaelic Football at the New Haven club, he helped introduce it to students at Boston College.  Last year members of the Club planned to host them at their Venice Place club, but it was canceled due to the tragedy at the Boston Marathon.  They are happy to announce that Kellan and his classmates are coming down to the New Haven Gaelic Football & Hurling Club on Sunday, September 15th to participate in a 7-aside tournament.

The tournament will be from 1:00 – 6:00pm on Sunday, September 15th.  In addition to Boston College, there is a team coming up from Fairfield, and a team from New Haven.  While New Haven has a long history of playing Gaelic Football, it has been a few years since they have organized an adult team.  Many of the players who played 10-15 years ago are back playing, alongside some of the younger players who have come up through the ranks of the Youth Football program.

This will be an exciting day of Gaelic Football and all are welcomed to the New Haven Gaelic Football & Hurling Club, 9 Venice Place in East Haven.
