Light the Way to Education with the North Haven Education Foundation

Founded nine years ago, the North Haven Education Foundation has funded over 75 projects, including the award of numerous Creativity Grants in the town’s public schools. A few examples of such projects that have impacted thousands of children are the installation of Smart Boards in all the schools, the provision of elementary school science labs, and the rotating Music in Residence program, as well as the One Book One Read program.

Lighting a luminary is one way to help the foundation to continue to support innovative projects, as well as valuable district wide programs that might not otherwise be attainable in a tight economy. At a suggested donation of $5.00, a luminary may be dedicated to a friend, a loved one, or even a favorite teacher. The foundation is grateful to groups such as the PTA’s who have agreed to assist with the distribution of luminaries. Of course, private and corporate donations are the major source of funding.

The luminaries will be displayed on the North Haven Town Green on Sunday, December 8, 2013 in conjunction with the community’s annual Tree Lighting. Come join the fun and help the foundation to brighten the holiday festivities as we ‘Light the Way to Education’.
