North Haven's Carter Mario partners with Modell's to Donate New Shoes to Local Basketball Team

Connecticut’s Law Firm for Injured People, Carter Mario Injury Lawyers and sporting goods store, Modell’s have partnered to supply a local elementary school basketball team in New Haven’s, Fair Haven neighborhood with new basketball shoes.

A project of the law firm’s community outreach initiative, CarterCares, the donation of 15 pairs of basketball shoes was something the firm was happy to do for this group of kids in need.

“Our firm has always worked to help those in need. This group of well-deserving kids on the basketball team at Fair Haven School needed our firm’s help, and we were so glad to give them this gift,” said firm President and CEO, Carter Mario. “The work CarterCares does across Connecticut to aid those in need, especially our youth, is something that we see as paramount to the success of our business, and consider it our duty as corporate citizens of our state,” added Mario.

Modell’s Sporting Goods Milford store was contacted by the CarterCares team and asked to assist in the basketball shoe donation to the Fair Haven School team. Since opening in 1889, philanthropy has been a top priority for Modell’s, and the Milford store was happy to join forces with CarterCares to make this donation a reality.

“Carter and his firm do such great work in our community and Modell’s in Milford was glad to help with supplying these new basketball shoes. Modell’s is your neighborhood sporting goods store here in Connecticut, and we’re willing to help if a sports team or school is in need,” said Community Specialist and Assistant Manager, Jim Stadt. “This donation will help the members of the Fair Haven team to grow and thrive, and it would have not been possible without the leadership from our District Manager, Spencer Hawkes; store General Manager Anthony Costa; and Footwear & Assistant Manager, Calvin Brunson,” adds Stadt.
