Cocoa Needs a Home
Abandoned by her former family, the pit mix at the North Haven Animal Shelter desperately needs a new home.
Via Foster Dogs in NYC:
Will you please be the one to save me? I have been at the North Haven Animal Shelter for a month now. I don't know when my time will be up. They only have 10 kennels here - it is very small.
I love kids and used to have a family, but they felt I was misbehaving so they threw me away. I love to give kisses - lots of them. I am scared sometimes of other dogs, so I would prefer a home where I am your one and only.

I want to learn new things and be the best friend I can be, so I need somebody that understands my breed. I want to be an ambassador to others like me one day, but to do that I need patience, good understanding people at my side, as well as some behavioral training and socialization. Are you willing to take the time?
I want to be loved again - it was nice! I want to be hugged and kissed and told I am a good girl again! I miss that! I can sit, I tell you when I need to go outside, and I can walk on a leash. I really am a good girl - if only you would give me a chance. I'm too scared to die. Please don't let that happen to me.
