Flying Fish at the Library?

Children make and fly fish-shaped kites at the North Haven Public Library.

It was free, close to home, air-conditioned and something nice for the kids to do. That's what brought Kevin Flanagan and his family to the Wednesday.

The Flanagans were joined by their friend Simone Garofalo and her daughter Giada, 4, and other North Haven families for a kite-making and flying program.

Giada and Leah Flanagan, 5, and her sister, Ella, 2-and-a-half, ran about in the grass outside the library flying their colorful fish kites, which were attached to a stick by a short piece of string, while the parents stood watch and chatted.
