List of North Haven Streets to Be Crack-Sealed

Wondering what roads will be affected by the resurfacing project? Here's the list.

The Town of North Haven through the South Central Region Council of Governments (SCRCOG) hired BETA Engineering to conduct a Pavement Condition Study of the 146 miles of roadway in town. As a result of the study, BETA Engineering has identified 38 town roadways to receive crack sealing in lieu of milling and paving or full restoration.

Beginning in mid September 2013, the Department of Public Works (the “Department”) and its consultant - A and A Asphalt, LLC (apparent low bidder through the Connecticut Region Council of Governments bid) will commence with crack sealing operations. The duration of the Crack Sealing Contract is estimated at approximately 3 to 4 weeks, depending upon weather conditions.

The following roadways are currently on the Department’s list to receive crack sealing:
  • Elliot Court
  • Country Way
  • Sunset Road
  • Weaver Circle
  • Anthony Road
  • Banton Street
  • Barway Road
  • Charles Court
  • Dwight Street
  • Marion Court
  • Oliver Drive
  • Tennyson Avenue
  • Wilson Avenue
  • Cottontail Lane
  • Culver Lane
  • Nancy Lane
  • Shawmut Avenue
  • Glenn Road
  • Governor's Drive
  • Kimberly Circle
  • McDermott Road
  • Red Brick Lane
  • Sycamore Lane
  • Turner Drive
  • Wood Street
  • Beechwood Drive
  • George Street
  • Hickory Hill Road
  • Laura Lane
  • Livingston Drive
  • Tillert Court
  • Surrey Drive
  • Beatrice Drive
  • Old Forge Road
  • Pez Court
  • Sherwood Drive
  • Morning Mist Drive
  • Katie Lane
Because the Fall leaf Collection Program is 'right around the corner', the Department would like to advise all residents who live on the above roadways to PLEASE place all leaves at the curb and NOT in the street. It is important to clear leaves from the streets so that the cracks may be easily visible by the Contractor and he/she may be able to clear and promptly fill and seal them per the Contract Scope.

Additionally, all residents should exercise caution while traveling on the above roads and follow all traffic patterns that will be displayed during crack sealing operations. Residents should be aware of cracks that are newly sealed, as time is needed for sealant curing and if not careful, sealant can stick to vehicle tires.

Lastly, residents on the above street should NOT park their cars on the street itself when crack sealing operations are taking place. This only delays the crack sealing operations and forces the Department to contact local Police for assistance in moving such vehicles from the roadways.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation, and if you have any questions, please contact the Department of Public Works at (203)-239-5321, extension 400.
