North Haven's Brianna Thompson Presents Medical Technology Findings at Covidien Event

Brianna Thompson of North Haven recently participated in a special poster session hosted by Covidien, a leading global provider of healthcare products, where Thompson spent the summer as part of Connecticut’s largest paid student intern program in medical technology.  Poster sessions are the presentation of research or project findings and are prominent atscientific and medical conferences. 

Displayed at an event marking the 10th anniversary of Covidien’s internship program in Connecticut, Thompson’s poster presentation was on Synthesis and Testing of Thermal/Moisture Sensitive Adhesive. The event was attended by Covidien executives and other business leaders and elected officials inConnecticut

Thompson and more than 70 other interns worked in Covidien’s North Haven and New Haven facilities, which together serve as the global headquarters for Covidien’s $5 billion, 10,000-person Surgical Solutions business.  Key research and development (R&D), manufacturing and marketing operations, supporting the development of instrumentation and medical devices used in surgery, are located at these sites.

Thompson, a graduate of North Haven High School, currently studies Biomedical Engineering at Quinnipiac University.
