Patch Team Taking Part In Shoreline Penguin Plunge

We'll be among the hundreds of people taking a dip in the Long Island Sound next month

Last year, Patch helped support the Penguin Plunge and gave me the duty of taking the winter immersion in Long Island Sound. This year, a few other people are joining me in both the misery and fun of the event.

Patch.com has a team in Penguin Plunge, which will take place at noon on March 10 at Ocean Beach Park. So far North Haven Patch editor Julie Weisberg and Waterford Patch editor Paul Petrone have pledged to join in. As of Thursday afternoon, we've raised $215.

To donate to the "Patch Plungers," go to this site. All donations for this event benefit Special Olympics Connecticut.

Among the other registered teams, Mitchell College currently has the most members with 18. Other teams include the New London Rotaract, Groton Town Police, and All Friends Animal Hospital.
