Kids invited to April 16 egg hunt.

The Department of Community Services and Recreation has released details on Easter Eggstravaganza, its holiday event for children set to run from 10:30 a.m. to noon on April 16 at the Rec Center on Linsley Street.

Attendees are encouraged to donate $1 to the event in exchange for having their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny.

Kids in pre-K through fifth grade are invited to participate in a host of activities, such as top hat and bonnet contests, a raffle, and face painting.

For the last 45 minutes of the event, performer Danny Magic will be putting on a show in the gymnasium. All kids in attendance will be given a balloon and a bag of candy at the conclusion of the set.

In addition to the Department of Community Services, the Easter event was also sponsored with the help of the Washington Avenue McDonalds, whose owners, John and Pattie McKnight, were for their charitable contributions to the town.
