What’s Up This Weekend?

From a tree climbing competition to a benefit concert, and an art show or a soccer game, there's something for everyone.

The forecast is calling for a chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday, but that shouldn’t dampen spirits because there is a lot going on this weekend. We’ve compiled a list of a few different events into one place for you. Here’s what we found:

Connecticut Tree Climbing Competition

Stop by the Town Green on Saturday to watch as tree care professionals put their skills to the test in a competition that is sure to have eyes to the sky. The event, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., is a competition to showcase tree care safety and tree climbing skills. It is free and open to all. The green is located at 18 Church St., North Haven.

Band Together for Kids Fundraiser

Rock out for a good cause at the 16th annual benefit concert to support the Connecticut Children’s Hospital on Saturday, May 14.

There are four different show times: 10-12, 1-3, 4-6, and 7-9. The event takes place at RVP Studios, 221 Bull Hill Lane, West Haven.

North Haven Art Guild Spring Art Show

The creative works of local artists are on display Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the North Haven Cultural Center, 27 Broadway. For more information, click here.

Stamp Out Hunger

Don’t forget to leave a few cans of food and other non-perishable goods in your mailbox on Saturday to donate to the largest single-day food drive in America. More information about this annual effort can be found by clicking here.

Watch a Soccer Match

The third-place North Haven Soccer Club will take on the fifth-seeded Naugatuck Fusion team during a match on Sunday, May 15.

The game will take place on the field at 441 City Hill St., Naugatuck. Go show your town pride and support the soccer squad. The game starts at 10 a.m.
