Julia Quinn visits CTRWA

Quinn
to visit North Haven, Connecticut

2/1/2012 North Haven, CT – Every month, the
Connecticut chapter of the Romance Writers of America draws talented guest speakers from across the publishing world, and their own ranks are brimming with accomplished authors.

This April, they have something extra-exciting to look forward to, even by their own standards.  New York Times Bestselling author Julia Quinn has penned over more than 20 novels and is bringing her knowledge to Connecticut.

Quinn began writing romance novels while attending Harvard.  Within weeks of being accepted to medical school, her first two novels Splendid and Dancing At Midnight were purchased by Avon Books, stalling her entry to medical school for two years.

By the time Quinn actually entered medical school, three
of her books had been published.  After a couple months dissecting cadavers, Quinn returned to romance writing with Brighter Than The Sun.  Over the next fourteen years, Quinn wrote sixteen additional novels, excluding collaborative projects and contributions to anthologies.

Awards and accolades followed. Quinn has been profiled in Time magazine and is also a three-time winner of the Romance Writers of America’s coveted RITA award.

On Saturday, April 14, 2012, the Connecticut chapter
of the Romance Writers of America has the privilege of hosting Ms.Quinn at the Holiday Inn North Haven 201 Washington Ave., where she will present “Dialog: It’s More Than What You Say”, her workshop on interaction between characters.

The workshop is open to non-members, but with an event this exciting, demand for attendance is likely to be high and space is limited.  For $45 (a fee that includes
lunch), up to 50 non-members can attend the workshop – the book signing following Ms. Quinn’s workshop is open to the public free of charge.

With Connecticut Fiction Fest taking place the month after Julia Quinn’s April visit, the spring of 2012 is going to be very exciting for CTRWA!
