Whalley and Goffe Local History Night @ Mitchell Library

Join us at the Mitchell branch of the New Haven Free Public Library as Christopher Pagliuco discusses his recent book, "The Great Escape of Edward Whalley and William Goffe: Smuggled Through Connecticut." After the English civil wars, Puritans Whalley and Goffe were forced to flee to the colonies. Their adventures through Boston, New Haven, Milford, and Hartford were once the stuff of legends. Now, their named are remembered as two major New Haven streets, but their stories are nearly forgotten. We'll bring these early American heroes' tales back to life on the 24th, with signed copies of "The Great Escape..." available for purchase.
