North Haven's Robin Wilson Retiring As Head of Quinnipiac Chamber

Wilson will step down after 28 years as president of the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce.

North Haven's Robin Wilson has announced that she is retiring as the president of the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce after holding the post for 28 years.

Wilson became the president of the chamber in 1985, according to the New Haven Register. She said she will stay at the job for the next six months, and then stay on as a consultant to the chamber for the following six months, according to Register.

“I started in a 10-foot-by-12-foot room on a lawn chair behind a folding table,” Wilson told the Register. “We had 230 members and almost no money. I couldn’t cash my paycheck the first week.”

Wilson said the chamber now has 575 members and a "very healthy" bank account, according to the New Haven Register. She said she is retiring to spend more time grandchildren, according to the Register.

The Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce serves Wallingford and North Haven.
