Antonio's in East Haven has excellent food and huge portions. Italian food at it's best (right behind Mama's, of course!).

Anthony's of Guilford has the best foods, best service, best prices, and is the best place to have a special event. Carol there works with you and they go out of their way to please you. I have had 3 family events there and will go back again. The food is awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

La Luna is the best Italian around. They don't have pizza there but you can go to Marco's in Branford for that!

You need to go out of East Haven for excellent Italian food, If you took all the dishes of food from the local Italian Resaurants it would almost taste the same. GOOD YES, but not the best around. Try Goodfellas in New Haven. Not happy with the name but the food is excellent. Being the President of the Sons of Italy in America Lodge 37 of Greater New Haven I think that this name says nothing for what Italians brought to America, Its just a movie. We have the best food around, that gos on any table.

I would have to say Nuzzo's Apizza in Madison (across from Lenny & Joe's) is by far the best and has deep roots stemming from the New Haven community.

Red Tomato in Madison's owner learned his chops at the renowned Pepe's in New Haven. Try Red Tomato on Route 1 in Madison, just beyond the Guilford border... I also highly endorse Bobby's on Route 80 in North Branford!
