Stratford's Best Auto Mechanic: Who Is It?

If your car needs to be fixed, who do you go to first and why?

Trust. It's one of the most important considerations when choosing an auto mechanic: we want to be able to trust that the business owner we turn to will do the job right, on time, and not charge us an arm and a leg.

Whether the dreaded engine light pops on, your car breaks down or it's just a regularly scheduled tune-up, we want to know where you, the experts, go to get your car fixed.

Your answers will help other Stratford residents find the best auto repair shop in town. So vote for your favorite in this week's Readers' Choice contest and don't forget to rate and review the business by clicking on its name below.

Here's our starter list (let us know if we missed anyone):

Go to K2 Automotive if you want it done right. They provide the best service, honest and dependable. You can't ask for more.

I would recommend K2 to any woman who wants their car fixed right the first time and also wants to be treated with respect and intelligence. Peter took the time to show me the parts that were needing replacement and never talked down to me. As a woman I feel very comfortable taking my car in for service knowing that everything will be handled professionally.

I have been waiting for them to be added, I agree with you, Mr. Capriotti, Jared and Paul are the most honest mechanics I have ever dealt with, and they are way more reasonably priced than some of the other service stations I have gone to. ( I used to go and get multiple quotes, but Mr. C always came out the best.) I have also bought a car off their lot and for the money I paid, it lasted a lot longer than I ever intended.

What year did this happen ?

That fatboy ran a pretty good con game on many people in the area. He was fleecing people at the former Lee Myles tranny shop on Boston Ave. in Bridgeport, and then he moved over to Bruno's in Stratford. That guy was so notorious that the Bruno's had to rename the shop when they retook control of it. I don't know if he's still in the business, but if you go to a transmission shop in this general area and the manager/service writer is named Richard, proceed with caution.
