We track down the five best deals in North Haven this week.

This week, we scoured our local sources to come up with meal deals, including one that brings the town together to help one of our own; savings for those itchin’ to start their gardens, and a few other bargains we thought worthwhile.

1. CHRISSY’S CAUSE BENEFIT DINNER  
Deal:
  You can feel good when you help with this fundraiser for North Haven High Alum (Class of ’98) Chrissy Massy Gaffney. The benefit helps a good cause, features fun and games at North Haven High School, and is one of our deals of the week, with a complete meal for just $5, generously donated by Olive Garden, North Haven.  Admission at the door: $4 (adults); $3 (ages 3-12 and senior citizens).
Good through:  March 26, 2011 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

 2. XPECT DISCOUNTS
Deal:
 It’s easier to plan your summer garden when you can get 40% off on Plantation herb, flower and vegetable seeds at Xpect.

3.  DINO’S SEAFOOD
Deal:  Buy one entrée; get the second of equal or lesser value at half-price with Dino’s web coupon. Print the coupon out and bring it with you for dine-in service or take-out orders.

4. TIRES AT COST
Deal:
 Check out this spring oil and filter special for just $15.95 (plus environmental fee) at the place formerly known as Tire Express, located at 38 Broadway.
Good through: No Expiration Date

 5. LIUZZI CHEESE
Deal:
 Celebrate National Peanut Month: Pick up 40% savings on select chocolates, including peanut butter and chocolate favorites. You’ll also find 50% on select Panettone goodies while they last. Good through: No Expiration Date
