Halloween's just around the corner and whether you are looking to pick a pumpkin for eating or jack-o-lantern carving, we've got your round-up of local pumpkin patches and farm stands!


Looking for the perfect pumpkin to carve a Jack O’ Lantern for Halloween or to round out that front porch fall display? From pick-your-own to farm stands that have done the work for you, Patch is here to help you find your perfect pumpkin patch in the region!

Bishop's Orchards, 1355 Boston Post Road , Guilford and 1920 Middletown Ave., Northford. Pumpkins, fruit, vegetables.  203-458-PICK.  Email: pyoinfo@bishopsorchards.com. Pick-your-own season starts in June with strawberries and goes through October with apples and pumpkins. In December Bishop’s has cut-your-own Christmas trees. The market is open all year until 7 p.m., (Sun till 6pm), featuring a bakery & kitchen specializing in pies & prepared meal solutions, produce from a 300-acre farm.

Rose Orchards, 33 Route 139, North Branford. Pick-your-own pumpkin patch- already gathered from the field, straw or hay bale maze, tractor-pulled hay rides, wagon rides, prepicked produce, snacks and refreshment stand, restrooms, picnic area, farm animals, school tours. 203-488-7996. Strawberry Hollow Farm, 2171 Boston Post Road, Guilford. 203-458-3579. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mums, pumpkins, gourds, a giant cornucopia and more!

DeFrancesco Farms, Route 22  (between Augur Road and Police station, on same side), Northford. Farmers' market, pick-your-own pumpkins, paint-your-own pumpkins, mums. Halloween-decorated greenhouse and trail. 203-484-2028.

Don't forget Indian Neck Store and Stand for your pumpkins. Across from Lenny's Indian Head Inn. Yellow and white pumpkins, corn stalks, mums and gourds.
