-Connecticut Public Charities Can Benefit With Grant-

Milford, Conn. (August 19, 2013) – Starting September 1, Connecticut public charities, non-profit and community organizations will be eligible to apply for a grant from the Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation.

The Foundation provides grants to CT organizations, with concentration on education, job training, and the arts. Last year the foundation awarded grants to more than 100 Connecticut organizations and 47 high schools.

Recipients of DeLuca Foundation grants have supported child and adult literacy programs, animal rescue organizations, food banks, and many other community outreach programs including:

·         Animal Haven

·         Boys and Girls Club of Milford

·         Bridgeport Neighborhood Trust

·         College Summit Inc.

·         Community Soup Kitchen, New Haven

·         Connecticut Audubon Society

·         Connecticut Food Bank

·         Connecticut Science Center

·         Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust

·         Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation

·         Junior Achievement of Western CT

·         Junior Achievement of Southwest New England

·         Marine Cadets of America

·         Mercy Learning Center of Bridgeport

·         New Haven Symphony Orchestra

·         Read to Grow

·         Teach for America

·         Tiny Miracles Foundation

Proposals will be accepted from September 1, 2013 with a deadline of October 8, 2013. Decisions will be made on or before December 31, 2013, with notification and checks mailed in January 2014. Grants range from $1,000 to $5,000.
