North Haven Rotary Foundation Awards Scholarships

North Haven Rotary Foundation Awards 7 High School Seniors $1,000 Scholarships

At a meeting of the North Haven Rotary Club in late June, Dr. Russell Dallai praised the caliber and character of this year’s graduating class. Among other things, he said that they were a “terrific group of students who would truly be missed.”

He also thanked the North Haven Rotary Club for its ongoing support of NHHS students, from sponsoring the Interact Club and supporting various school programs during the school year, to granting several highly valued scholarships through its foundation.

The following seven recipients of a $1,000 scholarship expressed their gratitude to the NHR Foundation, and indicated their academic interest beyond graduation:

  • Molly Gambardella, daughter of Rotarian Bill Gambardella and his wife Rosalind (applying to art design schools);
  • Emily Carroll (Boston College in financial management);
  • Ramneet Singh (University of Connecticut in finance);
  • Jennifer Royka ( University of Central Florida); Amara Barbiero (Quinnipiac University in accounting/ CPA);
  • Tyler Hinde (Eastern Connecticut State University in Elementary Education); 
  • Spencer Oakes (University of Connecticut in Business.) Each expressed admiration for what Rotary does in the community, and Tyler added that he fully intends to become a Rotarian in the future.
