THE DURHAM FAIR IS ALMOST HERE!

The 94th annual Durham Fair will be held September 26-29 on the Durham Fairgrounds located at the junction of Routes 68, 17 and 79 in Durham, Connecticut.  The Durham Fair is “Good, Clean, Wholesome, Fun” -  truly offering something for everyone!

Come and admire the 10,000+ exhibits in art, baking, canning, crafts and collections, flowers, fruits, giant pumpkins, horticulture, needlework, photography, vegetables and youth.

Get up close and personal to prize winning beef cattle, dairy cattle, goats, llamas, poultry, rabbits, sheep and swine in the 3 livestock barns.  You also don’t want to miss the horse, ox and pony pulls going on daily in the animal pull ring.

Entertainment is included in the new lower admission price.  Headlining the main stage this year will be national country recording artists Justin Moore on Friday night and Josh Turner on Saturday night.  In keeping with the wonderful tradition of providing entertainment for every fan, the Durham Fair has four stages and 52 acts including blues, jazz, swing, country, big band era, folk, rock, celtic, latin, funk, high school show choirs and children’s music, all weekend.

New this year is the Connecticut Wine Festival at the Durham Fair.  This education and sampling event will feature 7 of Connecticut’s wineries with their Connecticut grown grapes.  You will be able to relax and enjoy local wine, Cabot cheese and music.  This is an additional charge for those with proper ID.

We have more to see and more to do including a Demolition Derby, Figure 8 Race, Tractor Pulls, Elephant Encounter, Kids Place, Discovery Tent, Farm Museum and Connecticut Agriculture Tent.

For those who like to shop, you can peruse handmade crafts in the tent or head to the indoor commercial vendor area for more things to see.  And that’s just part of it! Who can forget about the delicious, mouth-watering fair food – the fried dough, cotton candy, and giant donuts or the thrilling rides and games in the midway?
