Five Things You Need to Know Today

The scoop on what's happening in North Haven, 5/16/11

1. The Parks and Recreation Commission will meet this evening at 5:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center. On the agenda: words from Eileen Pettit, Assistant Director of Recreation, and Lynn Sadosky, Director of Public Works. Also, the NHHS Lacrosse Club is requesting a subsidy.

 

2. The North Haven High School's PTSA meeting is scheduled for tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Prinicipal's conference room. All are welcome to attend.

3. The town is now participating in the Neigborhood Assistance Act Tax Credit Program which allows businesses to receive tax credits when they sponsor or support local programs and activities. Details on joining the program are available through the Finance Department, and at www.ct.gov/drs.

4. A bunch of varsity sports games this afternoon: baseball, boys golf, boys lacrosse, boys and girls outdoor track, boys tennis, and softball all have matches. See the .

 

5. Don't forget to vote in the town budget referendum tomorrow. Polls open at 6 a.m. and operate until 8:00 p.m. The district locations for voting are as follows:

District 1 – Mildred Wakeley Recreation Center – 5 Linsley Street

 District 2 – Montowese Elementary School – 145 Fitch Street

 District 3 – Ridge Road Elementary School – 1341 Ridge Road

 District 4 – Green Acres Elementary School – 146 Upper State Street

 District 5 - Clintonville Elementary School – 456 Clintonville Road
