Five Things You Need to Know Today

We give you the scoop on what's on tap in North Haven for the week of 5/23.

1. The North Haven Art Guild's Spring Show at the Cultural Center on Broadway will close this weekend on May 26. Come support local artists and drop by the exhibition Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. You can get a look at what's on display at the Guild's website here. North Haven Patch will be covering the final days of the show, so stay tuned for more details.

2. A number of public meetings this week: Special Board of Selectmen, Fire Commission, and Police Commission on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. respectively, and Inland Wetlands on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. The WPCA meeting slated for tonight has been canceled and moved to June 27.

3. The North Haven Way reported Friday that the letter sent home to elementary school parents enumerating the services that would be cut should the budget fail at referendum was indeed supported by the Board of Education and Superintendent Cronin. NHW is insinuating that the letter may be a breach in state law. You can read Dr. Cronin's email on the matter here. We'll be bringing you more information on the story as it develops.
