Get Updates on the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield Rail Project

Proposed route will run through North Haven, connect New Haven to Springfield, MA

A new CT Department of Transportation website will serve as a portal for information about the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield (NHHS) high-speed rail line currently in development.

The line, designed to connect New Haven's Union Station with Springfield, MA's Union Station will run through North Haven, Wallingford, and Meriden, with future expansions anticipated to extend the pathway all the way to Montreal.

North Haven's proposed two-platform station, located on State Street close to the CT-40 overpass, would have parking spaces for over 300 commuters.

In May, Governor Malloy announced that $30 million in federal funding had been allocated to the NHHS project, stating:

"This is great news and a win for the State of Connecticut as we seek to increase mass transportation throughout the region in order to create new jobs and make our state more attractive to businesses. The rail project will form the backbone of an interconnected, regional rail network linking key economic centers through the northeast corridor.  Supporting up to 50 daily passenger trains and reaching speeds up to 110 miles an hour, this line will provide some of the best rail service in the nation.”
