With health insurance companies , some have begun offering financial incentives for policyholders to shop for lower cost medical care.
An article in the Hartford Courant said that Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield has signed up -based to its SmartShopper program, which steers policyholders to lower-cost health providers.
The article says if they choose lower-cost medical care options, employees can receive rebates on their medical expenses.
