Local Budgets Benefit From Winter's Low Snow Costs

Officials say it allows them to make up some of the cost from Tropical Storm Irene and the Halloween snowstorm.

According to an article in the New Haven Register, Finance Director Edward Swinkoski said lighter than average snowfalls this winter are good budget news.

Local officials said the low snow removal costs have allowed them to make up some of the budget strain from the cleanup for Tropical Storm Irene and the freak Halloween snowstorm.
