North Haven Fire: Busy Time Period for Local Firefighters

The North Haven Fire Department responded to a total of more than 700 calls during the months of February and March.

It has been a busy late winter and early spring for North Haven firefighters.

The local department answered a total of 348 incidents in February and 326 incidents in March, according to a post on the North Haven Professional Fire Fighters Association's Facebook page.

"Multiple serious calls occurred including a number of rollovers and we were challenged as everybody else was with the snowfall," the firefighters stated within their post.

Below is a rundown of only a portion of the calls the department responded to during that two-month time period:

  • 6 Fires within structures with fire contained to room of origin
  • 7 Car Fires
  • 2 Brush Fires
  • 6 Electrical Fires
  • 49 Motor Vehicle Accidents
  • 416 Medical Calls
  • 8 Hazardous Materials Incidents
  • 45 Service Calls
  • 41 Good Intent Calls
  • 50 Fire Alarms
  • 17 Carbon Monoxide Incidents
  • 2 Explosion/Overpressure
  • 2 Special Incident
