Update: 31 Homes Still Without Power

A day after the storm, 31 homes still without power.

Update 1/19/11, 10:38 a.m. According to the UI, 31 homes in North Haven are still without power a day after an icy mix of snow and sleet knocked out voltage in over 1,000 homes. Hamden, meanwhile, still has 253 affected homes.

Update 4:45 p.m.: Only 102 power outages remaining in town.

As of 3:44 p.m. North Haven has experienced 1,318 power outages due to bad weather, the highest rate in the region, according to the UI.

UI, which serves over 11,000 customers in town, says that roughly 11.5% of their households in North Haven are currently without power.

Hamden, the second-most affected town, currently has 738 customers without power, down from 955 at the previous update.

The UI outlines a series of restoration priorities on its website. While restoration to individual homes is designated as the lowest priority, it adds that work at the household-level typically coincides with repairs on higher-priority customers.
