It's time for Thursday night TV.

Happy New Year, Charlie Brown, 8 p.m., ABC

“While other members of the Peanuts gang plan a holiday celebration, Charlie Brown struggles with War and Peace.” Wait, is this right? Really? Charlie Brown is tasked with reading War and Peace? Isn’t he in the 5th grade?

Three Inches, 9 p.m., SyFy

Apparently much awaited by fans of this type of thing, this stars Kyle Schmid (Henry Fitzroy from Blood Ties) and James Marster (Spike from Buffy and Angel). “The show is about a young man who discovers he has the power of psychokinesis and can move things three inches. He then decides to collect others who have super powers and form his own little superhero group.” OK, seriously? THREE inches? I bet if I concentrate hard enough I can move something three inches. And when does this come in handy, other than when a horse steps on your foot?

About this column: With so many channels and so little time, it's hard to know what to watch on TV every night. Elissa Bass is here to help you decide.
