Power Restored Across the Board

UI reports that 95% of customers affected by storm have had service restored.

Following storms yesterday that knocked out power in over 500 North Haven homes, the UI has reported that 95% of service has been restored in the region.

According to a statement released by the company, at the height of outages last night, 15,523 homes were without power. That number has since dropped into the hundreds.

As of 11:55 a.m., no outages are reported in North Haven. West Haven currently has 360 homes without power, the highest in the service area.

To deal with the spike in outages, the UI set up its Storm Center, which coordinated service calls and damage inspections.

“We take an all hands on deck approach during these types of events,” said Michael A. West Jr., UI’s director of Corporate Communications. “Our crews worked diligently throughout the night to restore as many customers as possible.”
