Report: Attorney Receives Death Threats After Sandy Hook Filing

Irving Pinsky says the threats came after he sought permission to file a $100 million lawsuit on behalf of a child survivor's family.

An attorney who wants to sue the state because his client says officials did not do enough to protect the Sandy Hook Elementary School community has reportedly received more than 50 death threats.

Irving Pinsky, a New Haven-based attorney, told the New Haven Independent that he received the threats after he filed notice with the state's claims commissioner asking permission to file a $100 million lawsuit on behalf of the family of a 6-year-old survivor.

He says the unnamed girl was traumatized after what she heard and witnessed during the school shooting on Dec. 14.

The Independent also states that Pinsky is in the process of withdrawing the filing in order to "calm the divisiveness and tremors," but he reserved all rights to refile based on some "new evidence" he has received.

That decision comes on the heels of a response to Pinsky's claim from state Attorney General George Jepsen, who said, "Although the investigation is still under way, we are aware of no facts or legal theory under which the State of Connecticut should be liable for causing the harms inflicted at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Nor does the claim letter filed in this case identify a valid basis to support a claim against the state and, by extension, its taxpayers.”

Pinsky's claim is that the state failed to protect Sandy Hook from "foreseeable harm."

Suggestion for Mr. Pinsky. Get to Loganville, GA, ASAP. This way you can represent the burglar who broke into a home. The female occupant and children fled to the attic but burglar found them. The female occupant shot this guy 5 times, not enough I guess, for he fled but was found later and is in critical condition. Maybe you can raise the case that she used excessive force on the subject or maybe should have announced she had a gun before unloading on his butt.

This comment is totally and completely irrelevant. By way of Jones's barn, Poulton appears to be arguing in support of death threats. And therein lies the crux of his deep seated character flaws. According to Poulton, free speech is not a civil right that every American should freely exercise without fear of intimidation or retaliation. In Poulton's world, only those who toe his fascist party line should be allowed free speech.
Irrelevant, I agree with you.

Read my comment again, you coward who hides. I was suggesting this bottom dwelling attorney to go south. So, no I don't support such threats. So, be brave, man up as they say, and come out of the shadows.
Richard Poulton January 06, 2013 at 08:17 PM
Hoff, are you sure you want to go there?
Mr. Poulton, Is that suppossed to intimidate me for agreeing that free speech is a civil right that every American should freely exercise without fear of intimidation or retatiliation?
Ivanna D. Truth January 06, 2013 at 08:50 PM
Don't go there Mr. Poulton.... Hoff may make a fool out of himself again this week. I think, however, the rest of us we're able to actually absorb your initial comment for what it meant. Isn't it funny that the only people that seem to agree with Hoff are these brand new names?

Poulton, encouraging unsafe internet practices is not going to win you any admirers. Your bitter, hate-filled rants and irrelevant comments make you sound like a desperate, angry, unstable man. YOU go South, you desperate piece of trailer trash. They would undoubtedly show you a lovely time, Bronx boy.
Bully January 06, 2013 at 10:16 PM
Poulton's is an insane obsessed cop. All of his angry, insane, mimicking and cyberstalking antics have not resulted in increased power and influence. So he haunts social media sites, participates in the politics of destruction, demands disclosure, and makes irrelevant, self aggrandizing comments. You are not tough, attractive or intimidating. You are simply a desperate, pathetic, bully.
Richard Poulton January 06, 2013 at 11:01 PM
"Bronx boy" ? You don't know me. Come out of the closet, if you have the guts, and lets debate. Too "Bully" you claim to know me but I challange you to produce one comment where I have done any of what you say I do. You can't. So, come out come out whoever you are, man up. Just another coward. By the way, my job as you so nicely pointed out, wrong as usual, ended in 1991.
Pathetic January 06, 2013 at 11:16 PM
Poulton, Don't flatter yourself. I only choose intelligent, educated persons to spar with. Debating you would be like going to war with a one armed man. You simply provide no intellectual challenge.
Pathetic January 06, 2013 at 11:19 PM
All right. I am leaving Poulton and his many aliases to argue amongst themselves. There is no smell more foul than hypocrisy.
E.T., Hate to be the one to tell you but your wrong so eat your resses pieces, find elliot and go home.
