Severe Storms Possible for North Haven Friday

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for North Haven as well as much of the rest of the state, which will be in effect until 9 p.m. on Friday.

Relief from this week's heat wave is on its way. But first North Haven — and much of the rest of the state — will have to weather the possiblity of severe thunderstorms created by the cooler, dryer air rolling into the region tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the New Haven County, which will be in effect until 9 p.m. tonight.

Additionally, an air quality alert — related to the waning heat wave — remains in place until 11 p.m. this evening.

Saturday's weather looks to be a huge improvement over the last few days. Although there is a chance for a passing shower or storm into the morning, the afternoon and early evening looks to be partly sunny and pleasant, with a high of about 84 degrees.

The chance of rain ends Sunday, with a mostly sunny sky and a high near 82 degrees.
