Storm Downs Old Oak Tree on Revolutionary War Gravestones

One gravestone was for Benjamin Trumbull, who wrote the first history of Connecticut.

Several gravestones of from were damaged this week when a century-old oak tree toppled over in a local cemetery.

NBC Connecticut reported that the tree also hit the gravestone of Benjamin Trumbull, who is noteworthy for having written the first history of Connecticut. The article notes that Trumbull’s house faces the North Haven Town Hall Green.

The tree fell during a brief storm last weekend. Six gravestones were
damaged.
