There may not be much yet in the way of snow, but the high winds associated with the nor'easter now bearing down on the region has already made its presence known in North Haven.
United Illuminating is now reporting that 1,561 of its 11,071 customers in town are now without power. That is more than 13 percent of North Haven.
The outage, which occurred shortly after 5 a.m., is due to a single event along the utility company's electricity distribution line in town, according to UI's outage map.
The company reports that a crew is now on site, with power estimated to be returned around 8 a.m.
East Haven Patch will continue to provide weather and power-related updates throughout the duration of the storm.
