The Triple-H of Summer: Hazy, Hot and Humid

High pressure over the Atlantic will bring in some warm, moist air from the south and west. With all this heat and humidity, showers and storms are likely to pop-up across CT this week.

It looks like the best chance for severe weather will be on Thursday afternoon. Plenty of heat and moisture will be around. Along with that, a weak frontal boundary stretching across our area could give us enough lift to produce a heavy line of showers and storms.

Today: Partly cloudy skies with a slight chance for an afternoon shower or thundershower. Hot, with temperatures reaching near 90 degrees. With dewpoints in the upper-60s to near 70s, those temperatures will feel some 5 degrees warmer.

Thursday: Some patchy fog in the morning, otherwise mostly sunny. Clouds will be on the increase during the afternoon with storms likely by evening. Highs will be warm in the upper-80s. Dewpoints near 70 degrees.

Friday: AM patchy fog. Otherwise mostly cloudy with a chance for some afternoon showers and storms. Highs will be in the mid-80s. Dewpoints will be a bit lower, in the low-60s so temperatures won’t feel as warm as days prior. Overnight lows in the upper-50s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny with a slight chance for an afternoon shower. Highs will remain warm in the mid to upper-80s. Overnight lows in the low-60s.
