Tornado Watch Issued for Region

Slight chance of severe thunderstorms today and tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey, and southeast New York for today and tonight.

Thunderstorms and winds of up to 14 mph caused by a cold front moving across the region could cause damage, the service reports. Accumulated rain will amount to less than a tenth of an inch.

The warning will expire tomorrow morning, with no hazardous weather predicted.
