Treacherous Conditions for Commuters Expected this Morning

Storm to hit 3 a.m., with rain and snow lasting until noon.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning and a Hazardous Weather Outlook for tomorrow morning, with snow expected to begin around 3 a.m. and an icy mix continuing until the afternoon.

Travel conditions may be dangerous during commuting hours Tuesday morning, with pileup on roadways worsening throughout the day. NWS predicts substantial quantities of sleet, snow, and ice.

Governor Malloy also issued a statement concerning today's inclement weather, saying, "Tomorrow's commute will be a sloppy mess, so I'm urging people to take it slow, drive carefully, and be aware of any icing that may occur. Please alert the authorities if you see any drooping power lines and be aware of any flat surfaces which may be at risk due to snow, ice and rain accumulation. This isn't an anomaly in our state, but we still need to be aware and take precautions."
