Wallingford Mail Center Slated for 2014 Closure

The processing center won't be shut down in the first wave of closures, but is slated to be in 2014.

The U.S. Postal Service is moving ahead with a plan to eliminate up to 140 distribution centers  through February 2013. The first phase doesn’t list the Wallingford mail distrubution center.

However, the USPS plans to close the center in 2014, according to the Record Journal.

“We revised our network consolidation timeline to provide a longer planning schedule for our customers, employees and other stakeholders, and to enable a more methodical and measured implementation,” said Patrick R. Donahoe, Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer of the Postal Service, in a press release.
