What's Going on in North Haven this Week?

Your guide to local goings-on.

1. A busy week ahead for parents with elementary school children. Montowese and Ridge Road will both hold their PTA meetings this Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Clintonville will follow the next night at the same time. Finally, the Board of Education will hold its last meeting of the school year Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Annex, deciding, among other things, school lunch prices for the 2011-2012 academic year, and the appointment of Dana Corriveau as the new Director of Student Services.

2. A host of town meetings this week, starting tonight with a special meeting of the Board of Fire Commissioners at 5:00 p.m. to discuss personnel issues, followed by Planning and Zoning later that night at 7:00 p.m. in the Recreation Center. On Tuesday, Community Services will convene at 5:30 p.m., and a town meeting is scheduled for Wednesday starting at 8:30 a.m. in the main conference room of Memorial Town Hall. 3. The North Haven Garden Club will have their annual dinner meeting this Thursday starting at 6:30 p.m. at Ristorante Luce in Hamden, CT. New officers will be appointed. More info on the Garden Club can be found here.

4. The Special Olympics torch passes through North Haven Thursday morning around 9:00 a.m. when North Branford Police will hand off the "Flame of Hope" to the North Haven blue. North Haven Patch will have photos of the exchange. Check here for more info on the CT Special Olympics.

5. Want to play bocce this summer? Then drop by an informational meeting on Friday at the North Haven Senior Center at 11:30 a.m. to get involved. The group will play Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays beginning at 12:30 p.m. All are welcome to join, and there is no cost for participating. Call the Center at 203-239-5432 for more info.
