Winter, Meet Spring

Will Thursday's storm be the last snow of the year?

When people talk about April showers, they don't usually mean snow showers.

Nevertheless, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch and a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the New Haven region running from Thursday night through Friday morning. Expect snow to begin Thursday evening and cut off Friday morning around 10 a.m.

Accumulations will be small, approximately one to three inches, although some areas can expect up to eight. Friday morning commutes are expected to be impacted, with slippery surfaces and limited visibility.

Moderate temperatures in the high-forties should clear up most of the powder by Saturday morning. Temperatures will continue to rise through the week, reaching the fifties by Tuesday.

Stay safe on the roads, and check in for weather updates.
