15th ANNUAL CUTTING FOR A CURE

Fun family day haircuts face painting karaoke bake sale drawings here is what we are raising fund for there will also be a dedication to Ann DeMatteo at1:00PM She was a great supporter of our event

This year I was asked to be on the council of Looking Forward it was founded in 1994 by Ellen Swirsky.,  who has always been a supporter of our Cut For A Cure. Kim Dwyer asked me to join  the council. Over the years, I have heard and seen what great work they do to help patients in a time of need.My sister did not have this kind of support when she found out she had breast cancer. I think this is such an important program  so patinets and their families have some where to turn.
Looking Forward Program  is a wellness, support and education program that helps cancer patients and their loved ones deal with the many issues related to this disease.   Looking Forward gives patients the information and support they need- essential elements in the recovery process Looking Forward offers services such as energy balancing, gentle yoga, guided imagery, holistic nutrition, look good feel better, massage, medical pilates & pet therapy. This is offered at both atYale-New Haven Hospital & Saint Raphael Campus.
Two weeks ago, my best friend Janice came to me and said I know you want to help a family that is in need of support. She told me about Catherine who has Stage 4 Glioblastoma Brain cancer who went to high school with her daughter.Catherine has had three brain surgeries, chemo and radiation and is courageously fighting every day. Catherine and her family are currently looking for new experimental trials. This family needs our help.

-- Ann was such a great supporter of the Cut-For A-Cure. She would help me every year get the word out. There was no better advocate to have on your side, she new how important it was that I let family's know about Breast Cancer, early detection and the type of cancer my sister Joni had Inflammatory Carcinoma this type comes out as a rash not a lump. I would like to dedicate our 15Th Cut-For A-Cure to Ann for her strength dedication she was a hero and always fighter
