St. John's Community Suppers

The Friday Night Community Suppers resume Friday, September 19, 2014 between 6 and 7 pm All members of the community are invited to attend.

St. John’s Episcopal Church’s Community Suppers are held each Friday evening from 6 to 7 through the school year, with the exception of Friday, November 7, 2014. All members of the community are invited for companionship along with a nutritious supper. Community Suppers provide welcome relief from eating alone at home, with wholesome, nutritious food. The menu includes items such as homemade soups or fresh salads in the warmer months, pasta dishes, meat loaf or egg salad sandwiches, seasonal fresh fruit and fresh baked desserts. Donations to defray the cost of the meals are welcome but not required. 35-40 people per week are served.

One attendee says, “As a North Haven citizen, I enjoy coming to the St. John’s Friday Night Community Suppers because of the fellowship and the kindness and warmth of the people there. I am not a member of St. John’s but I enjoy it so much. The food every week is a delicious surprise!”

Community Suppers also provide an opportunity for people looking for a way to give back to their community. The volunteers who cook, serve and clean-up are not only parishioners, but neighbors of St. John’s as well. For more information, call 203-239-0178 or visit http://www.stjohns-northhaven.org/
