Speaking of Muslim Americans

The League of Women Voters of Hamden-North Haven featured Shahid Abdul-Karim as the speaker at its annual meeting, June 17, Park Central Tavern, 1640 Whitney Avenue, Hamden. His talk was “Muslim Americans: Up Close and Personal.”

Abdul-Karim is the community engagement editor at the New Haven Register, a Hamden fire commissioner, and a member of the LWV of Hamden-North Haven. He has been a reporter for the Muslim Journal since 1999 and in 2009 was elected to the Journal’s board of directors. He has a degree from Springfield College, MA, in human services.
