Musical Folk Presents a Concert for Families Featuring "Uncle" Gerry Dignan to Celebrate Music Together's 25th Anniversary

Musical Folk to host a "Concert for Families" featuring "Uncle" Gerry Dignan in New Haven.

On March 23, 2013 at 1:15 pm, Muscial Folk will host a concert for young children (birth–age 8) and their families. The show will take place at First
Presbyterian Church of New Haven at 704 Whitney Avenue, New Haven, CT 06511. Tickets are $12 per adult or $30 per family of 4 in advance, or $15 per adult and $35 per family at the door.  Tickets may be purchased online at www.MusicalFolk.com

Music Together, a worldwide early childhood music program celebrates their 25th anniversary.  To mark the occasion we are having a singalong family fundraising concert with guest Gerry Dignan who is featured as “Uncle Gerry” on all the Music Together CDs, accompanied by his wife, and our Music Together Teachers.  To read Gerry Dignan’s Bio visit www.GerryDignan.com.

A portion of proceeds will be donated to the “Songs for hope CD for Sandy Hook” to promote healing and raise funds for arts education in Sandy Hook.

“We are honored to welcome “Uncle” Gerry to New Haven to sing and dance with us! All of our families are very excited to hear Uncle Gerry’s familiar voice. We hope many local families will come out and enjoy a fun afternoon of music with their children,” says Music Folk director Liz McNicholl.

In addition to recording for Music Together, Gerry has worked and recorded with
Grammy-nominated cellist, David Darling, and has contributed to the work of Music for People organization (David Darling, co-founder), an organization dedicated to self-expression through improvisational music. Gerry was also a seven-year member of the world-renowned Chicago Symphony Chorus and  raveled with the chorus and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra to perform at the Concerthalle in Berlin, Germany, as well as in New York City at Carnegie Hall.
