Sit Back, Relax and Enjoy Some Wine

For wine connoisseurs and novices alike, a free tasting is the perfect way to experience some new wines.

Now that the warmer weather is here, enjoying a glass of wine with your significant other or a group of friends is a nice way to end the work week or relax on the weekend. There are plenty of places nearby to sit and enjoy a glass of wine, but why not learn a bit more about local offerings and possibly discover a new favorite by checking out a free wine tasting?

This week’s Great Escape is “A Free Taste of the Wine Thief.” The Wine Thief is an award-winning retailer that has consistently been voted the best wine shop in New Haven.

Highlighting warm weather wines, the event will take place this Thursday, May 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kelly’s Restaurant & Bar, 196 Crown St., New Haven. Weather permitting, guests can enjoy their wine on the patio. Otherwise, the event will take place indoors in Kelly’s private room.
