We give you the 411 on goings-on around town worth checking out.

  • Holiday brass music will be featured at a concert Saturday at 7 p.m. at North Haven Congregational Church to help locals get into the holiday spirit. The event, part of the Pierpont Concert Series, is free and open to the public, but reservations are encouraged. Call 203-239-5691 to get on the list for tonight's performance.
  • On another holiday note, a live nativity will be put on by Pond Hill Baptist Church on Saturday starting at 6 p.m. The event will be followed by refreshments and a family activity at the church. The performance is free and open to non-congregation members, but call 203-239-7708 beforehand to RSVP.
  • Either Saturday and Sunday, make sure to visit the benefit for North Haven Middle School at Barnes and Nobles on Washington Avenue. The book fair runs from 9 a.m. each day. 
  • Several worthwhile concerts this weekend, as mentioned in . Local R&B vets the Bernadettes play J Roos Saturday at 9:30 p.m. and harpist Grace Cloutier performs at a Habitat for Humanity benefit at St. John's Episcopal Church on Sunday at 7 p.m.
