Arrest Made in Gas Station Armed Robbery Case

The following information was provided by the North Haven Police Department. Citations do not reflect convictions except where otherwise noted.

  • On February 8, Adelbert Cade, 48, of Middlefield, CT was arrested for reckless driving and criminal attempt to commit assault on a public safety officer. According to state marshall Andrew Esposito, who was trying to execute a federal court subpoena on the suspect at the time, Cade tried to run him over in an office building parking lot after the officer had identified himself. Cade has a court date scheduled for February 17.
  • On February 8, Earl Telford, 28, of Hamden, CT was arrested for larceny in the fourth degree, robbery in the first degree, and conspiracy related to the December 2 armed robbery of the Citgo Gas station at 38 Broadway. Telford will appear in court today. A New Haven court is also awaiting a plea from Telford in a case stemming from a September arrest for breach of peace in the second degree, assault in the third degree, unlawful restraint in the second degree, risk of injury to a child, reckless endangerment in the second degree, larceny in the sixth degree, and interfering with an emergency call. Telford has been found guilty in five previous cases in the state dating back to 2003.
  • On February 7, Aaron Hayden, 21, of Giles Avenue, was arrested for failure to appear in the first and second degrees. Hayden was released from custody with a promise to appear in court on charges stemming from an August arrest for possession of narcotics and a host of motor vehicle infractions. Bond for this week's arrest was set at $5,000 for each charges, and a court date was scheduled for February 10.
  • On February 4, Robert DeMartino, 51, of Fallon Drive, was arrested for interfering with an officer and breach of peace. DeMartino appeared in court yesterday, and the court is currently awaiting dispostion in the case. The next scheduled court date in the matter is March 24.
  • On February 3, John Diglio, 19, of Monroe Street was arrested on two counts of violation of probation, and failure to appear in the second degree. Diglio was arrested for burglary in third degree, and larceny in the fourth degree in September, illegal operation of a motor vehicle in August, and illegal operation of a motor vehicle in July. Diglio is currently being held on $30,000 bond stemming from the probation violation arrest.
  • On February 3, Christian Schanz, 24, of North Branford, CT was arrested for larceny in the sixth degree. A court date was set for February 17. Schanz is also involved in trials for disorderly conduct and speeding from October and December respectively. Schanz has been found guilty in four other cases in the state, possession of a controlled substance, disorderly conduct, and assault in the third degree in 2006, and larceny in the sixth degree in 2007.
  • On February 2, Alan Gordon, 64, of Patten Road, was arrested for disorderly conduct. Bond was set at $500, and Gordon appeared in court on February 3. A disposition hearing is scheduled for March 17 in Meriden GA7.
  • On February 1, Adam Esposito, 23, of Quinnipiac Avenue was arrested for use and possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics, and possession of a controlled substance. A court date was scheduled for February 17. Esposito has been found guilty in three previous cases in the state, one in 2006 for possession of a controlled substance, one in 2009 for criminal trespass, larceny, and credit card theft, and one in 2010 for criminal trespass in the second degree.
  • On February 1, Danielle Jones, 21, of Wallingford, CT was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, narcotics, and possession of a controlled substance. A court date was scheduled for February 17. Jones is currently also being charged with assault in the third degree and disorderly conduct stemming from a November arrest in Meriden. A disposition hearing in the matter is scheduled for today.
  • On February 1, Sean Dinneen, 20, of Quinnipiac Avenue was arrested for use and possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance. A court date was set for February 17.
  • On February 1, Troy Tondalo, 34, of Wallingford, CT was arrested for no insurance and evading responsibility. Two other cases involving Tondalo are currently being heard in Meriden, one concerning breach of peace and assault charges stemming from a June arrest, and one for speeding, also from a June arrest.
  • On February 1, Umut Bagcivan, 22, of Old Saybrook, CT was arrested for possession narcotics, larceny in the sixth degree, possession of a shoplifting device, conspiracy to obtain prescription drugs, and conspiracy. Bagcivan appeared in court on February 1, and arraignment is scheduled for February 17. A more detailed account of the crime can be read . Bagcivan is also currently involved in a case stemming from a December 2009 arrest for reckless driving. A disposition hearing in the matter is scheduled for April.
